With this body of work I had the chance to look at the memories that objects evoke and through those, remember the game that my dad and I used to play; ‘what is the colour of your feelings?’. It is through this game that I began to develop my love for colour and connect these to feelings. The Bukaroo print is inspired by the safety in objects and how these can leave imprints in our minds. I depicted these fragments of memories by breaking down the shapes of objects and toys from my upbringing in the seventies to construct new surface patterns.
